Beyoncé Confessed Her Miscarriage Was Why She Waited So Long To Announce Pregnancy With Blue Ivy

We all know about Beyoncé’s three kids, Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir — but not everyone knows about the struggle the famous singer went through before she welcomed those precious babies into the world.
Around 2011, Beyoncé suffered a miscarriage that rocked her world. She kept it a secret for about two years until she finally decided to address it in 2013.
In the video below, the singer sits down with Oprah and explains just how much the miscarriage affected her.
She says, “I felt like there are so many couples that go through that, and it was a big part of my story,” adding, “It was one of the hardest things I’ve been through.”
Beyoncé continues her raw interview and tells Oprah, “It’s one of the reasons I did not share I was pregnant the second time because, you know, you just don’t know what’s going to happen.”
She was cautious after experiencing her miscarriage and waited a while before announcing her pregnancy with Blue Ivy.
Once she felt ready, she revealed a baby bump during her performance at the MTV Music Video Awards in 2011 — and the rest was history.
